A Workshop with a Clear Purpose
Lanna Horology opened on Thanon Tha Phae in Chiang Mai with one simple intention: to offer careful, unhurried watch repair in a city where that kind of work had become difficult to find. The workshop is small by design. Keeping it that way means each piece receives proper attention rather than being pushed through a queue.
The name draws from the Lanna Kingdom, the historical realm of northern Thailand known for its craftsmanship and measured pace. That spirit feels appropriate for a trade that rewards stillness and precision over speed.
Our work covers mechanical and automatic movements — the kind of watches that reward a gentle hand and a trained eye. We do not rush assessments, and we do not begin work without your understanding of what needs doing and what it will cost. If we cannot help, we will say so plainly and suggest where you might go instead.
Most clients come to us with everyday automatics that need a cleaning, or with pieces that have been sitting in a drawer for years. Others bring watches that belonged to a parent or grandparent — pieces where the sentimental value is clear. We take both seriously, because in our view a watch is worth caring for regardless of its market price.

Safe Handling from Entry
Every watch is logged and photographed on arrival. Condition is recorded before any work is started, so there is a clear reference point throughout.
Calibrated Tools Only
We use timing machines and pressure testing equipment that are checked regularly. Measurements are taken before and after servicing to confirm the work made a real difference.
Work Records Provided
Full-service and heirloom work comes with a written record of what was done. This travels with the watch and helps any future watchmaker understand its history.
No Surprise Charges
If an issue is found during servicing that changes the scope or cost, we pause and contact you. No additional work begins without your approval.
Pressure Testing for Water Resistance
Any case opened for servicing is pressure tested before closing. Seals are renewed as standard, not as an optional extra, when a case is dismantled.
Confidential and Respectful
Watches brought in for heirloom care often carry personal significance. We treat the context around each piece with the same discretion as the technical work itself.

Lanna Horology works on timepieces from across the decades — from workhorse automatics picked up at markets to Swiss movements that have been in families for generations. The workshop is equipped for movement cleaning, regulation, gasket and seal work, case polishing, and the careful cosmetic attention that older pieces sometimes need without altering their character.
Being based on Thanon Tha Phae places the workshop at a natural meeting point for residents and visitors in Chiang Mai. Many people bring in watches during a longer stay in the city, leaving a piece for servicing while they travel and collecting it on their return. We are comfortable working around these kinds of timelines, provided the scope is agreed in advance.
Northern Thailand has a tradition of careful handwork that extends across weaving, silversmithing, and woodcarving. Watch repair fits naturally within that tradition — it is quiet, precise, and deeply respectful of material. That is the atmosphere we try to maintain at Lanna Horology.
